How Lamb and Pears can Help your Food Allergy

Lamb and pears may appear to be a strange combination, but the reason they are chosen as part of a food allergy diet is because they are rarely indicated in allergies and are therefore relatively safe foods for most people with a food allergy to eat.

Often the best way to treat a food allergy is to avoid the food that causes the allergy altogether so a period of exclusion gives your body a chance to tell you which foods are making you ill and whether you react to one food or many foods.

An exclusion diet consists of eliminating one or more foods completely from the diet for a given period of time and then reintroducing foods one at a time to check for adverse reactions.

If you are committed to the process your efforts will be rewarded with the food, or foods, that cause your problems and you can be free of the symptoms and distress a food allergy may cause.

The principle of the lamb and pears food allergies diet is that you only eat these two foods, lamb, pears and bottled or filtered water, for five to seven days. During the course of the food allergy diet you can begin reintroducing other foods one at a time and gauge whether they cause a food allergy reaction.

As the lamb and pears food allergy diet is so restrictive it gives a chance for your system to clear and reveal the hidden allergies which are causing illness or allergy symptoms.

Keep a food diary to track your progress and note down how you are feeling during the diet.

If your food allergy symptoms disappear during the diet you can try and reintroduce suspect foods to see if they cause you a reaction. Keep a note of how you feel before and after eating the different foods you reintroduce.

Any food that does cause a reaction needs to be kept out of your diet and placed on your “foods to avoid list”. If a food passes your test successfully you can place it on your “foods you can eat” list.

For best results take each step slowly; reintroduce foods slowly, perhaps one food per meal and if possible one food per day.

A variation of the lamb and pears food allergy diet allows you to eat turkey and peaches, or rabbit and raspberries.

Important note! A two food diet is very restrictive and should never be followed without close supervision or for an extended period of time. Severe exclusion diets can compromise your nutritional well-being so pregnant women, children, diabetics, epileptics, anyone with emotional disturbances or anyone with a serious illness should seek professional advice before embarking on any type of food allergy treatment or exclusion diet.

Are You Allergic Anaphylaxis May Kill You

An allergen is any substance that is recognized by the immune systems and is the cause of an allergic reaction. The substance most often is eaten or inhaled; some are even those caused by a scratch on the skin. Dust, pollen, and pet dander are all common allergens. Food like nuts, sea food, milk products, and fermented foods can be the cause of allergy symptoms in many people.

Giving a comprehensive list of allergens would be impossible. Neither would giving a common list be prudent because allergies are specific to persons. One person may exhibit a skin allergy where as another cat allergy. Some allergies are well known where as others are not. Perfume allergy and deodorant allergies are not so common.

Causative Factors

Common allergic reactions are due to the following causative factors. This list is not comprehensive and is based on statistical data of most occurring allergens. Airborne particles that cause hay fever are grass, weeds, birch trees, pollen, mold spores. Similarly a common list of food items that cause allergy are nuts, sesame, eggs, legumes(peas, beans, soybeans etc), milk products, wheat, corn, and maize are a few. Insects that cause allergic reactions are bees (sting), wasps (sting) , Cockroach (calyx), Dust mite (excretion), animal hair and dander. Some drugs like penicillin, sulfonamides, salicylates (found in fruits) and local anesthetics produce adverse allergic reactions in some allergic patients.

Anaphylaxis

Anaphylaxis is an extremely serious form of allergic reaction that can kill in minutes. It can involve various areas of the body such as the skin, respiratory tract, gastrointestinal tract and the cardio-vascular system. The annual occurrences of anaphylactic related incidents are 30 per 100,000.

Symptoms may occur with in minutes of contact with the allergen. It may also take two to four hours for the symptoms to be exhibited. Sometimes the symptoms occur of a short span of time then subside and after a period of time may occur again. This characteristic is called “biphasic reaction”; where the symptoms have occurred in phases. Life threatening situations may progress as the time goes by.

Natural allergy relief is an easy way. Eye allergy relief to treat eye allergies or even having allergy relief products along with you can go a long way in preventing untimely situations.

Symptoms of Anaphylaxis

The allergic reaction occurs in extremities and may begin with

A tingling sensation, metallic taste or itching sensation in the mouth.

A sensation of warmth

Asthma symptoms

Difficulty in breathing

Swelling of mouth and throat

Vomiting

Diarrhea

Cramping

Drop in blood pressure resulting in loss of consciousness.
Often symptoms occur in the respiratory system and take the victim by surprise.

Symptoms are due to the chemicals that are spread through out the body due to the explosion of the MAST cells. Allergic people have have tiny molecules called IgE anti-bodies. These are tiny antennae that tell the body when an allergen has entered into the body. These antennae are attached to cells called MAST cells. When the allergens enter the body it latches on to the IgE cells and causes the MAST cells to explode thereby causing the sending of chemicals (usually histamine) through out the body.

Are you at risk?

If you have a previous history of anaphylaxis then you are definitely at risk. Individuals who have particular allergies to food and also have asthma are at an increased risk to life threatening Anaphylaxis. Teenagers are especially a high risk category. This is because they eat at places away from home and are less likely to carry medication or allergy products for allergy relief. Many times they even ignore the symptoms.

Those who have a history of allergy in the family are advised to check out it they have the same allergic reaction. Identify your allergies and carry your medication around. This is the best solution.

If Effective, Drug-free Asthma and Allergy Treatments Really Exist, Why Doesn’t Your Doctor Know

This is an excellent and important question that many people ask about natural asthma and allergy treatments. There are several reasons why doctors may not know or even if they do know, why they won’t tell you.

One reason your doctor may be unaware of an effective, natural drug-free asthma and allergy treatment is that they generally are very busy and simply don’t have the time to do the research about it. Keeping up with all the current medical publications can easily be a full time job in itself. Sadly, the main reason is that many traditional doctors don’t believe in natural treatments and think that drugs are the only acceptable routes to take. The reality is drug companies often fund medical schools. These huge multi-national drug companies spend billions of dollars a year to develop and promote drugs that they want doctors to prescribe and you to keep using. They spend multi-millions on advertising and funding medical schools to convince doctors and the public that drugs are the best and only solution to asthma and allergies.

The bottom line is money: they would like you to continue to buy their expensive drugs and doctors want you to continue visiting them or they would both be out of business. The sad part is these drugs are expensive, usually don’t work very well since they only mask the asthma or allergy symptoms. Even worse, many of them also have dangerous side effects. If you currently take asthma drugs, knowing what the side effects are is important.
